![]() ![]() Hector leads the Trojans and then the Trojans begin to set fire to the Greek ships. Partly based on the Iliad, the book retells the story of the Trojan War, from the birth of Paris to the building of the Trojan Horse. Zeus calls Apollo (God of Sun) helps strengthen Hector. Black Ships Before Troy: The story of the Iliad is a novel for children written by Rosemary Sutcliff, illustrated by Alan Lee, and published (posthumously) by Frances Lincoln in 1993. Ajax drops Hector, making the Trojans attack. Hector throws a huge stone to smash the Greek gate down then Poseidon (sea- god) arrives to inspire the Greeks. but Achilles agrees to let Patroclus wear his armor so that the Trojans will think it is Achilles and fall back The Trojans attack the wall surrounding the Greek ships. but then all the ships were set on fire, Patroclus also talks to Achilles in the hopes of getting him to come and fight but he is turned away. Patroclus sees this after coming out from visiting Eurypolus. Hector then leads a charge which takes them right to the Greek ships, and they set them on fire. When Athene saw this she was oblivious to the jewels robes given to her from Hector's. The Trojans pushed the Greeks back and back almost till the black ships. Their appearance made the Trojans take fresh heart in the battle against the Greeks. Hector get hit by a big rock and almost dies, but he gets revived by Apollo. Paris joined his brother Hector when he was on his way to battle. ![]() ![]() Zeus powers the Trojans right into the Greek camp, but Poseidon puts new life into them. Zeus drops a snake that momentarily distracts the Trojans before they take it as a good omen. ![]()
